Painting

In 2017, the artist felt the need to go beyond the window of reality offered by photography and started painting, influenced by abstract expressionism and inspired by artists such as Jackson Pollock, Willem de Kooning, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Kazuo Shiraga, and Gerhard Richter.
As a self taught painter, trough experimentation, he found his own stylistic expression, his aesthetic is constantly evolving. His work is subdivided in series, each one represents a different phase in his life and has a different painting style.

Technology

2022
Technology is a series where I will merge engineering into art.
Engineering and technology is always been a huge part of my life and I have decided to find a way to talk about it trough my art.
I will take electronic components that generally are hided from the sight of the user, and put them on display. In this way I reshape the nature of electronics from object created to accomplish some task, to an object on display, part of an art work.

In this piece, I bring together some real electrical components and some imaginary. Some questions come to my mind when I look at this piece: How much work was done to get the system to work? How many modifications were made? Was it painful to figure out what was wrong or it was easy and intuitive? What is the system controlling? There are hidden parts or is that all there is? What is alimenting the system?…

A graphic board interacts with an imaginary circuit. The represented system is floating into a dark space and interacting with other elements. The eye represents the observer who makes the painting exist. If there was no observer, would the painting still exist?

Artificial Mind

‘Artificial Mind’ talks about the relationship between the human kind and technology in the new century, the way technology reshaped our world, our minds and our behavior. It represent the idea of inserting a chip in the brain of a person, a technology that is currently under development. It also represent artificial intelligence, machines pretending to think like a man.
A series of 10 of this piece is available, each one slightly different and unique.

Transition 2

2021
Transition 2 represents a period of profound physical and emotional change in the artist's life. The paintings of this series are abstract and they are done following the same process as Transition 1. There is not a clear point of start and end in each painting, but the technique and the method is maintained a constant in all of them. The artist is interested in discovering if it's possible to see the profound emotional change he goes trough during the time the series is created, trough the differences in each painting.
Transition 2 is the continuation of Transition 1 and is entirely done in the United States.

Transition 2.1. Deep Inside

'Transition 2.1. Deep Inside' show a difficult time for the artist, where after relocating to the US, during the Covid pandemic, he struggles to find his new balance and spend a lot of time alone working remotely.

Transition 1 is entirely done in Italy.
The artist knew at the time that he was about to change is life by relocating to the US.

Tribal

2018-2019.
In this series the artist found that representing tribal and rough figures was very close to his emotions at the time. There was a big component of chaos in his life and a part of it was very animalistic. In this series, concept such as life, multiple personalities, love, time and others are expressed.

'Fuck The System' represent the modern society where we are constantly bombarded by the media. The world can be overwhelming and confusing, but for the one who can see it, there is a way out.

Get Over It

'Get Over It' represent the need to get over the past in order to build a better future. The paint on the canvas is very thick and a lot of layers have been overlapped. The past is still there, buried under layers of paint, but the final figure is shaped only on the last one.

'Love' represents a relationship between two lovers with different goals and ambitions. It's a beginning and also an end at the same time. The two figures share the heart but in the same time they don't look in each other eyes and they are stretching to reach different and distant dreams.
